On Friday Kylie, Amy (from the UK), Grace (an Aussie), and I took the train down to Sydney so we could be tourists and have a girls night out! It was so much fun! When we got there it was pretty rainy so we grabbed a bite to eat and went straight to the Sydney Aquarium which is located in Darling Harbor. We saw all kinds of marine creatures including giant stingrays, sharks, jellyfish, PENGUINS, crabs and the entire cast of fish from Finding Nemo. We walked around the harbor for a bit and checked out some souvenir shops. Once we had seen enough, we cabbed it back to the hostel we were staying at called "The Funk House", which was in Kings Cross. It was an interesting place to say the least. We went out for pizza and wine for dinner and then hit the town! We went to the world famous "World Bar" in Kings Cross where they serve you a drink in not just a boring old cup but a teapot! It was very unique! The next morning we were up bright and early so we could head over to Sydney Harbor. This time it was much more sunny and warm which made for better photos in front of the bridge and opera house. We ate lunch outside at a little restaurant on the harbor with a spectacular view of the Harbor Bridge. It was definitely one of those moments where I thought to myself "wow, I can't believe I'm in Australia!!" I've already been here for over a month and I still can't believe how lucky I am to be here! I am loving every minute of it! After lunch, it was back to the train for the 3 hour ride back to campus!
Until next time,
Kimmy
